OLMC Inspire: Alumnae Career Talks
Last week our senior students had the privilege of hearing from four outstanding OLMC Alumnae at our Careers Panel, held as part of the Year 10 and 11 subject selection and career planning process.
We were delighted to welcome:
- Tatiana Khoury (Class of 2018) – Systems Engineer at DroneShield
- Kyah Day (Class of 2021) – Data Science & Analytics at Qantas
- Dr Kathryn Mater (Class of 2013) – Paediatric Doctor at The Children's Hospital at Westmead
- Samantha Mesia (Class of 2017) – Hydraulic Engineer at Northrop Consulting Engineers
The panel took the form of an engaging Q&A session, with our alumnae generously sharing their journeys since graduating from OLMC. They reflected on how their experiences at school helped shape their aspirations, the pathways they followed after graduation, and the achievements and challenges they have encountered along the way.
Students were particularly interested in hearing about subject selection, university life, navigating career pathways, and strategies for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our panellists spoke candidly about embracing opportunities, remaining open to change, and recognising that career journeys are rarely linear. Their stories highlighted the importance of perseverance, curiosity, and having the confidence to pursue one's passions.
The session was both inspiring and informative, providing our students with valuable insights as they begin making decisions about their future pathways. We are incredibly grateful to Tatiana, Kyah, Kathryn and Samantha for generously giving their time and sharing their experiences so openly. Their stories are a wonderful reminder of the diverse and exciting opportunities that await our students beyond OLMC.
