Welcome to our new look newsletter! This change - along with our new website - is all designed to enhance your experience while accessing essential information, news, and updates from the College.

I am also thrilled to announce that the MyOLMC App is now available for download. MyOLMC allows you to submit student absences, view your daughter’s timetable, receive important notifications, and much more - all from the convenience of your mobile phone. An email was sent to parents yesterday with all the essential information about this exciting update. If you have not yet downloaded the app, please follow the instructions and links provided in that email to get started.

Thank you to the teams involved in delivering these exciting updates. Their hard work has resulted in improvements that not only look fantastic but also make our daily routines easier.

We have recently marked our ninth annual Women in Leadership Forum. Held last week at the College, we were joined by four inspiring guest speakers – Catherine Devine (Class of 1981), Dr Vanessa Pirotta, Angela Joseph (Class of 2000), and Maddison Brown (Class of 2014) - who spoke about their career journeys as women in leadership.

Each speaker reminded us, in their own way, that the road to success isn’t linear; failure is inevitable, and having the courage to be true to yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give to you and ultimately to those around you.

It was wonderful to see our Mercy Girls and other members of the community engaging with the speakers and their words of wisdom. If you had the pleasure of attending, I’m sure you’d agree that the room was full of both affirmation and excitement. I want to thank the staff who made the event possible and to everyone who came to support an event that highlights the importance of women in leadership roles.

Today marks the first day of Reconciliation Week. The theme for this year is All In, a call for all Australians to commit to reconciliation every single day. This theme makes it clear that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change. Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us. I especially resonate with this year’s theme. It is a call to be inclusive of all Australians, first nations Australians and the millions who have followed them. We are one country and this year’s theme speaks to that and encourages peace, acceptance and unification for all our people.

Next week, we will hold our annual Staff Spirituality Day on Friday, 5 June. This is a pupil free day for all students. A reminder that the following Monday is the King’s Birthday Public Holiday. On the horizon, as we reach the tail end of Term 2, we will also welcome the community to our annual Chapel Soiree. You will receive more information on this exciting event shortly. I look forward to seeing you there.
