In recognition of the importance of educating the whole person, Our Lady of Mercy College offers an extensive Cocurricular program.
Students are encouraged to take part in as many activities as they like.
Students may select from a wide range of musical instruments for private tuition. The College has an Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Rock Bands, Vocal Ensemble, Choir, Concert Band and various Ensemble groups. Musically talented students take leading roles in the College Liturgies.
Ongoing opportunities are provided for students to become socially aware and to participate in activities whereby they can make a difference in their world. Groups such as Amnesty International, Caritas Australia and WATAC are actively supported within the school.
OLMC educates its students to assume leadership positions in society. Training is provided through the leadership activities of the College - School Leaders, Student Representative Council, Homeroom Leaders, House Leaders, and Peer Support Leaders.
Students in Years 9 - 12 are invited to participate in activities, which lead to the Bronze, Silver & Gold Awards in the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.
Opportunities exist to participate in activities such as: Chess Club, Debating, Drama Ensemble, Environmental Action Group, Future Problem Solving, Mock Trial, Public Speaking, Readers' Group, Science Club, Shakespeare Festival, Textiles Club, Titration Competition, Tournament of Minds and Young Writers' Competitions.
